Shady Events
Friends of the Shady Spring Library
The Friends of the Shady Spring Library is a group that helps to raise funds and promote use and appreciation of the public library. Membership applications are available at the Shady Branch of the library. FOSSL meets the 2nd Monday of every other month.
Book Sale
The Friends of the Shady Spring Library hold a book sale twice a year in order to raise funds for the library. They accept donations of books throughout the year - books that are in good condition, not torn, old or musty. They also do not accept old textbooks or encyclopedias, due to storage space constraints.
People who want to volunteer to help with the sale should call the library at (304)763-2681. The dates for the next book sale can be found on the Shady Library's calendar.
The last book sale in October raised $1,091. The Friends of Shady Spring Library spent this money for a Valentine Present for the Library: 2/12/11 new shelving arrived for behind the front desk - come in and check it out. It looks great! :)
